Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941 Historical

                                      FOR SALE

              NC 13408

Phil Brown began restoration in 1980's consisting of recovering the entire airplane in Stits, replacing whatever wood or cables as necessary and having its Continental W760 220 hp engine majored by Aero Engine. In 1990 it won the Merced West Coast Fly-In "Best Cabin Airplane" award. Later, a landing mishap at Santa Paula Airport caused damage to the wing panels, a landing gear leg and several struts.

During 2005-2006 he repaired the landing gear, strut damage and one wing panel. The other three wing panels were not repairable so were rebuilt entirely with all new wood while using most of the existing metal fittings. All four panels were then covered in new Stits fabric using their dope and paint to complete the process consistent with the earlier restoration to match the fuselage.

The aircraft was restored, annualed and test flown again in 2007.  It has 25 hours on engine and accessories and 0 hours on Sensenich prop.  For protection, the aircraft has been hangar stored during current ownership.

The aircraft has Collins radios, encoder, transponder, ELT, 4-way intercom and a standard VFR panel. It also has long range fuel tanks and is fitted with Cessna 310 brakes.

The aircraft has a RARE an unusual history.  It was owned by Robert Tyce, the first civilian killed at Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941.  Included with the sale is the Tyce original log book showing the aircraft aloft over Hawaii that day.  Complete history since original sale 1933 to date also available.                                              Asking price:  $175,000.00
